About the position
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team at UT Health Austin, Dell Medical School, focusing on providing comprehensive care to patients in the Primary Care and Medical Specialties Clinics. This role is designed to enhance the overall functioning of adult patients by delivering brief, evidence-based individual counseling and care management services. The LCSW will work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to formulate and implement individualized treatment plans that address the biopsychosocial needs of patients facing various medical and behavioral health challenges. In this position, the LCSW will conduct bio-psychosocial evaluations and develop treatment plans while providing psychotherapy through both virtual and in-person sessions. The role requires maintaining accurate documentation and charge capture for all services rendered, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. The LCSW will also support patients and their caregivers by sharing insights on how life factors impact chronic illnesses and assisting them in building coping strategies and psychological skills to enhance their daily functioning and quality of life. Additionally, the LCSW will engage in value-based research initiatives aimed at improving patient care and operational processes. This includes tracking and reporting patient outcomes and social work interventions. The LCSW will contribute discipline-specific knowledge to the interdisciplinary team regarding mental health and social determinants of health, fostering innovative approaches to chronic illness management. Participation in departmental meetings, continuing education, and supervision of master's level interns will also be part of the role, promoting best practices and collaboration across departments. Responsibilities
• Completes bio-psychosocial evaluations and treatment plans.

• Provides brief, evidence-based psychotherapy through face-to-face sessions (virtual and in-person).

• Maintains written documentation and generates charge capture for all psychotherapy services rendered.

• Supports patients/caregivers by sharing information on how life factors affect chronic illness and helping build coping strategies.

• Provides care management, connecting patients to resources such as prescription assistance programs.

• Participates in value-based research initiatives and operational improvements for patient care.

• Provides discipline-specific knowledge to the interdisciplinary team regarding mental health and social determinants of health.

• Participates in department meetings, continuing education, and academic opportunities.

Requirements
• Hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited program.
,
• Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas.

• Minimum of two (2) years of post-degree clinical experience.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
,
• Maintain a positive, compassionate, and professional attitude with patients and families.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

• Strong organizational, planning, follow-up, and time management skills.
