About the position
As a Merchandise Planner at Sephora, you will play a crucial role in managing brand planning for both pre-season and in-season timeframes. This position involves planning, forecasting, and allocating products to ensure stock targets are met. You will collaborate with various teams to create budget plans, develop strategies, and analyze sales and inventory needs, ultimately driving business growth and optimizing inventory levels across the network.
Responsibilities
• Manage Brand Planning for pre-season and in-season timeframes to meet in-stock targets.

• Create pre-season Brand Budget Plans in partnership with Inventory Directors, Merchants, and Vendors.
,
• Develop new brand strategies, projected sales, inventory needs by SKU, and order flow setups for launch timeframes.
,
• Own accurate monthly in-season Open to Buy (OTB) sales, gm%, receipt, and inventory adjustment projections.
,
• Reconcile OTB Sales and Receipt projections with Replenishment/Demand Planning system forecasts.
,
• Present at monthly cross-functional OTB meetings.
,
• Partner with Demand Planning on forecast alignment and strategy.
,
• Guide Merchandise Planning Assistants to prioritize newness and important orders, and communicate delays in key launches.
,
• Analyze and validate sales and inventory needs for key initiatives, animations, and promotions.
,
• Conduct Newness hindsight and key initiatives analysis on a seasonal basis.
,
• Develop liquidation strategies for exit brands/collections or overstock.
,
• Maintain consistent communication with vendors regarding sales performance and outstanding issues.
,
• Validate productive assortment through analysis and recommendations in collaboration with the Merchandising Team.
Requirements
• 2-5 years of Planning experience.
,
• Excellent technical skills in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
,
• Ability to generate new ideas and find solutions to business challenges in merchandising, operations, and finance.
,
• Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data into intelligent business decisions.
,
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and task management skills.
,
• Clear and concise written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Good negotiation skills.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
