A growing national practice is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney with class action and or wage & hour experience. This attorney can come from either the plaintiff or defense side. This firm is seeking a litigator who is motivated and can aggressively push their cases along towards settlement or trial.
Responsibilities of Role:
• Working on 40-60 cases at any given time in state, federal court or arbitration. The cases don’t go to trial often, but someone who knows how to manage a docket and know legal issues important.
• Conducting depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Preparing for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings with the assigned Partner.
• Drafting written discovery, notices, subpoenas and other legal documents
• Working with the briefing team to conduct legal research and writing.
• Drafting legal pleadings, motions, correspondence and other required documents.
• Negotiating settlements, with the assistance of a Partner.
Perks:
• Independence, but backing of successful plaintiff firm. This is a good opportunity for an attorney to establish a west coast presence, without being required to generate their own revenue.
• Cases go to trial, and this attorney could be a part of that.
• Quality resources – support staff, marketing, etc. - we do not depend on referral lawyers.
• A team that consists of 2-3 lawyers, a paralegal, and a legal assistant for every case we file. They also sometimes have a full-time briefing attorney to help this litigator!
• Growth into management if the attorney wants it.
Compensation:
• $2150K – 250K (pay is contingent upon experience in the wage & hour and/or class action employment law space)
• Bonus – different bonus structures (can be quite extensive, up to double the base with additional compensation!)
Requirements:
• 3+ years of class action and/or wage & hour experience (plaintiff or defense)
• CA license
