Summary of Job Duties: Under general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Senior Buyer for Raw Materials is responsible for sourcing nationally and internationally, negotiating, and managing the procurement of key raw materials to ensure continuous supply for manufacturing operations. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration with production, R&D, Quality, and Finance teams.
Specific Job Duties:
• Source and procure raw materials in alignment with production forecasts and company inventory strategy.
• Lead supplier communications and negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to deliver cost savings and value.
• Monitor market trends, Raw Material pricing, and supply risks to proactively manage sourcing strategies.
• Collaborate with all raw material life cycle stakeholders, especially planning and production to ensure timely material availability.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, service, cost, and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and sustainability goals.
• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned raw materials.
• Work closely with R&D, Quality, and the Executive Team on new product development (NPD) and raw material substitution opportunities.
• Maintain savings tracker.
• Support all other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent skills in written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
• Proficient in MS Office; especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• 4 years experience as a Raw Materials Buyer or Sr Buyer in a dynamic fast-paced purchasing environment.
• Proficient in ERP systems, experience with MS Navision is a plus.
• A self-motivated, hard-working person.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and self manage work load requirements.
• Understanding and experience in requesting and administering Corrective Actions from suppliers.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
• Commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
• Experience with Problem solving and process improvement in a shared-responsibility environment; capable of identifying weaknesses in a procedure and suggesting or developing improved processes and procedures to address the need.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player mentality with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
