This is achieved through the following program areas: Housing, Economic Sustainability, Education, Community Wellness, and DV/SA Prevention and Intervention. Today, EPHC serves more than 30,000 people annually and employs over 100 staff members, the majority of whom are bilingual, and over 93% are bicultural. Although EPHC is affiliated with the Catholic Charities Network, candidates or participants do not need to be Catholic to work with us or receive services. Across our programs and services, staff of all faiths - or none - work within our framework of respect for our mission, the dignity of the human person, and the common good. About the Role: The On-Call Crisis Line Advocate will answer incoming calls to the Linea UNICA Crisis Line. Linea UNICA is a 24/7 Bilingual Crisis Line providing support for survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Sex Trafficking. Advocates will provide in-the-moment crisis support, emotional support, safety planning, referral to follow-up services, and support with access to emergency shelter.

Responsibilities
• Answer incoming calls to the Linea UNICA Crisis Line.

• Provide in-the-moment crisis support to survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Sex Trafficking.

• Offer emotional support and safety planning to callers.
,
• Refer callers to follow-up services as needed.
,
• Assist with access to emergency shelter for survivors.

Requirements
• 40-hour DV/SA Advocacy training preferred; however, training is available and must be completed within 30 days of hire.

• Completion of Assertive Engagement (AE) training within 30 days of hire.
,
• Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-culturally competent.
,
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
,
• Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
,
• Ability to work well in a team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
