REMOTE - Director of Engineering
Position Overview
The Director of Engineering will lead and manage our engineering team in developing innovative solutions for our direct-to-consumer eCommerce platform. This role is essential for driving our technical vision and ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects that enhance our consumer-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor the engineering team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Develop and execute the technical strategy for our eCommerce platform.
• Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize engineering initiatives.
• Oversee the architecture and design of scalable applications using LAMP, Node, and Vue technologies.
• Implement DevOps practices to ensure continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) of our applications.
• Manage and monitor the performance of the engineering team, providing regular feedback and support.
• Ensure the use of best practices in software development and deployment, including the use of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies relevant to eCommerce and cloud computing.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in LAMP, Node, and Vue frameworks.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based architectures.
• Proven track record in managing eCommerce platforms, preferably in a B2C/D2C environment.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage a distributed team.
• Must be able to travel to Dallas, TX 3-4 times per year
