About the position
The Financial Analyst at The Carter Center is responsible for managing the full life cycle of subawards, including pre-award, award, and post-award processes. This role supports program staff by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and involves travel to various locations, necessitating Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT).
Responsibilities
• Analyze historical accounting data to aid in financial planning.

• Coordinate actions to correct account balances and maintain accounting controls.

• Assist in year-end audits and ensure accuracy of accounting data.
,
• Analyze financial statements and prepare financial reports.
,
• Project future trends and prepare long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis.

• Assist in preparing, developing, and monitoring budgets.
,
• Perform indirect cost analysis.
,
• Perform related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance, or a related field.

• Two years of financial analysis or accounting experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Nice-to-haves
• Professional financial certifications encouraged.

• Minimum of four years' experience in finance and administration.
,
• Experience with operational policy formulation and assessment.

• Comprehensive accounting and budgeting skills.

• Overseas and project management experience.

• Good understanding of issues affecting developing countries.

• Knowledge of Spanish and/or French.
