About the position
The Health Communication Specialist will play a crucial role in the Apple Women's Health Study (AWHS) at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This position involves leading health communications efforts, developing strategies to engage various stakeholders, and disseminating research findings. The specialist will work within a multi-institutional team to enhance the study's visibility and impact, utilizing a range of communication channels to effectively convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
• Oversight of all general study communications and dissemination of data.

• Collaborate with leadership to identify key messaging priorities and target audiences.
,
• Ensure all communication materials adhere to brand guidelines.
,
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging.
,
• Manage and execute communications projects with multiple stakeholders.
,
• Develop and disseminate research spotlights to showcase significant findings.
,
• Support AWHS staff in the development of presentation materials.
,
• Develop a scientific newsletter and maintain messaging consistency.
,
• Prepare and review communication materials, including press releases and social media content.
,
• Oversee the creation of materials such as infographics and videos.
,
• Monitor media coverage and analyze data to measure the success of communications initiatives.
,
• Craft compelling content for various tactics, including press releases and articles.
,
• Provide timely responses to public inquiries and manage media requests.
,
• Evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and suggest improvements.
Requirements
• 5+ years of related experience required; a combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Proficiency in current and emerging social media channels.

• Bachelor's degree in communications, Health Communications, Health Education, Public Health, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or related field.

• Master's degree in communications, Health Communications, Health Education, Public Health, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or related field.

• 2 years of relevant experience supporting scientific communications and social media content development for a national or international organization or brand.
