Benefits Equipment training and certification are provided free of cost Estimated Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Responsibilities You will be part of the Amazon warehouse team that handles unique customer orders weighing over 50 pounds, including big screen TVs, furniture, and appliances You will be trained to use technology for handling heavy bulk items Depending on the site, you may be trained as a heavy equipment operator using powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts or pallet drivers Many shifts will have you operating power equipment, while other times you will work with teammates on the warehouse floor, tackling hands-on items before they are sent along their delivery route Receiving, sorting, and putting away heavy and bulky inventory Loading boxes into trucks for shipment Using technology like computers and smartphones Standing and walking frequently during shifts, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching Using carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around Going up and down stairs (where applicable) You will operate and work around moving machines, including order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts Some activities require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs
