About the position
The Centralized Scheduling Coordinator at PeaceHealth plays a crucial role in supporting the Centralized/Integrated Scheduling department by coordinating surgeries, procedures, exams, therapies, and evaluations across multiple hospital and outpatient departments. This position serves as the central communication point for community referring physicians and various medical facilities, ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation for patient care.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate surgeries, procedures, exams, therapies, and evaluations for multiple departments and facilities.

• Serve as the central point of communication for community referring physicians and system patient services.
,
• Receive incoming phone calls related to scheduling and coordination of patients and resources.
,
• Ensure compliance with scheduling policies and alert leadership of any discrepancies.
,
• Collect and evaluate patient demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
,
• Analyze clinical information to resolve scheduling conflicts.
,
• Assist in updating guidelines and policies for scheduling services.
,
• Schedule third-party resources, equipment, and providers to maximize efficiency.
,
• Maintain scheduling templates and monitor cancellations and rescheduling of cases.
,
• Ensure prior authorization for cases and inform patients of financial responsibilities.
,
• Create and run performance audit reports by department and modality.
,
• Obtain necessary paperwork for chart completion and ensure compliance with orders and consents.
,
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Associate Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through education, training, and experience.
,
• Minimum of 2 years of scheduling and health records experience in a healthcare setting.
,
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records system is required.
,
• Preferred experience in scheduling multiple healthcare departments and facilities.
,
• Preferred experience with compliance and legal documentation of medical orders.
Nice-to-haves
• Completion of basic anatomy/physiology class related to surgical procedures.

• Clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
,
• Knowledge of surgeries, procedures, and exams performed in a hospital or outpatient setting.
