About the position
In our Customer Care area, the Relationship Manager develops deep relationships with advisors, plan sponsors, and third-party administrators that are in our 10M - 200M market space in Bethesda, MD or D.C. area. This role is the strategic partner to our clients and advisors to provide creative solutions that meet business goals of retention, growth, and retirement readiness to name a few. The Relationship Manager is responsible for collaborating with the plan sponsor and the advisor on plan design, investments, retirement readiness, services, and new opportunities. This position also involves conducting plan level health reviews and problem-solving complex issues that may arise in the management of retirement solutions. Responsibilities
• Develop deep relationships with advisors, plan sponsors, and third-party administrators in the 10M - 200M market space.

• Collaborate with plan sponsors and advisors on plan design, investments, retirement readiness, and services.

• Conduct plan level health reviews to assess and improve retirement solutions.

• Problem-solve complex issues related to retirement plans and client needs.

• Act as a strategic partner to clients and advisors to provide creative solutions that meet business goals.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience required.
,
• 4+ years of retirement industry experience.
,
• Must become an associated person of Principal Securities, Inc.
,
• Qualified Plan knowledge strongly preferred (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution).
,
• Excellent demonstrated leadership, negotiation, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
,
• Superior interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
,
• Must be assertive and entrepreneurial.

• Experience with financial security solutions and retirement planning.

• Familiarity with investment products and variable contracts.
