Job Summary

The Elite Job is looking for a highly organized and experienced Online Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing for our clients based in Malaysia. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, with a deep understanding of payroll regulations, taxation laws, and data privacy standards within Malaysia. You will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services, processing all related administrative tasks, and collaborating with our HR team to maintain optimal efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring all records are up to date and compliant with Malaysian laws.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure all tax-related deductions, filings, and contributions (EPF, SOCSO, etc.) are handled in accordance with the latest regulations.
  • Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile payroll accounts, ensuring accurate deductions, bonuses, and overtime payments.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver payroll reports, both monthly and annually, as required by internal stakeholders.
  • Employee Queries: Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll issues, providing clear and timely explanations.
  • System Management: Use payroll software effectively to process payments, maintain data, and generate reports.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
  • Collaboration: Work with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations and resolve any discrepancies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian payroll systems, tax laws, and social security contributions (EPF, SOCSO).
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state or multi-client environment.
  • Experience in managing payroll for employees in Malaysia is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial processes is an advantage.
  • Experience using payroll management software such as KeyPay, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.

Working Hours

  • Full-time remote position, with flexible working hours based on Malaysian time zone.
  • Standard working hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime during peak periods.

  • Payroll Systems: Proficient in using various payroll management systems and HRIS tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when handling sensitive financial data.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Malaysian labor laws, payroll-related regulations, and tax compliance.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Confidentiality: High level of integrity and respect for employee privacy and confidentiality.
