Assistant Engineer [REMOTE within PA/NJ]

Iteris is seeking an Assistant Engineer - Traffic Operations to perform a variety of technical activities in support of traffic operations and data collection projects. The position will assist with the analysis, assessment, and interpretation of data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming improvements. The position will also require regular coordination with public agencies and consultants.
 
Please note that while this position is remote within the state of PA, this role does require frequent travel to the Southeast Pennsylvania and Southwest New Jersey areas.
 
What you will be doing:

<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist with collecting, analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming projects, covering the data collection phase through the project reporting phase</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Develop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare the development of system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports and mitigation plans, coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Provide technical support for our TSM&O performance monitoring platforms</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Respond effectively to concerns related to traffic signal operations</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Prepare correspondence and technical reports</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Extensive local travel to conduct field work</li>

What you need to be successful in this role:
 
<ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (consideration will be given for equivalent experience)</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Engineers In Training (EIT) required</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Ability to work independently with a passion for traffic engineering and operations</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft's Excel and Word programs</li>
<li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 107%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Ability to work in field in Southeast Pennsylvania/Southwest New Jersey</li>
</ul>
 
Iteris anticipates paying between $77,600 and $86,400 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
