About the position

We are currently seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join our team at the South Sioux City, NE office. This role is essential for evaluating and analyzing commercial auto applications to determine risk and make informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills, and have a keen eye for risk assessments. As a Commercial Underwriter, you will not only assess risks but also build and maintain relationships with agents and insureds, ensuring that you become a trusted partner in the underwriting process. In this position, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating potential loss hazards while structuring insurance programs that meet the specific needs of our insureds. Your ability to negotiate and analyze risk will be crucial in making sound underwriting decisions. You will also participate in a comprehensive training program that includes one-on-one mentoring, classroom instruction, and self-study, allowing you to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field. This position offers an optional hybrid work schedule, allowing for three days in the office and two days working remotely.
