The SEO Specialists primary function is to improve the SEO rankings for all managed brands. They are to lead the effort in technical and content SEO optimization. They will coordinate with the copy writing team to create blogs, social media content and other content to help improve organic search rankings. The SEO Specialists will also coordinate with outside vendors to improve and monitor SEM performance and ROI as well as PMS vendors to make improvements to websites to improve organic search rankings. This position is responsible for all things SEO.


Compensation

  • $20 to $25 per hour DOE

 

Areas of Responsibility and Duties

 

  • Conduct single variable tests to prove or disprove hypotheses about the efficacy of optimizations in search engine results pages (SERPs)
  • Using POP or Surfer SEO to identify textual shortcomings of blog posts and pages
  • Identify and fix technical issues by working alongside Webmaster to both fix issue at-hand and prevent unintended inefficiencies and errors.
  • Do semantically based anchor text optimizations to improve ranking results.
  • Run keyword expansion endeavors to identify and act upon opportunities in both the short and long term.
  • Use Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or other keyword research tools to find striking distance keywords and optimize accordingly on a weekly basis.
  • Continually drive for content freshness. Systemize your approach and workflow to yield optimal SEO results.
  • Your domain is the tactical and “on-page” - UX, CRO, and on-page optimizations for SEO are all important considerations for you. Think of ways changes in the pages can support pre-established strategies. However, do not be passive. If strategies need to be changed, advocate for those changes.
  • Work team-wide backlink outreach initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience


Skills

  • Using legacy Google Search Console tools to submit robot.txt changes.
  • Willingness to teach. As our team expands, our goal is to foster a culture of each-one-teach-one. Conduct teaching hours to expand the skills of our workforce.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn about lexical hierarchies and what role they play in on-page and site structures.
  • How to use Asana or other task tracking tools to optimize workflow.
  • Know how or be willing to learn how to use tools like Google Optimize and Hotjar to optimize website performance and revenue production.


Abilities

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of SEO experience or transferable experience
  • Minimum 3 years of SEM experience or transferable experience

 

Working Conditions

 

This position operates in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional travel to regional offices and offices may be required. Must be able to reliably commute to Bend, Oregon office. All potential employees are required to pass a background check before being hired. Candidates may not have any tattoos visible above the shoulders. Smoking/Vaping are strictly prohibited within all company work areas, managed properties, owned properties, company vehicles, and within 10 feet of all entrances, exits, accessibility ramps, windows and air-intake vents. This position requires employees to follow company dress code.

 

Physical requirements

 

This job is primarily performed at a stationary desk in an office and can be done sitting or standing. Lifting/moving requirements are generally 10 pounds or less. There may be occasional need to crouch, stoop and bend. Normal workdays are between eight and ten hours, but overtime may be needed based on workflow.
