What You'll Do: Protect & Advocate for Our Card Members As a Dispute Prevention Specialist, your responsibilities will focus on the proactive identification, investigation, and resolution of financial disputes and potential fraud. Your diligence will be crucial in protecting both our card members and the company from financial risk. Your key responsibilities will include: Dispute Investigation & Resolution: Meticulously analyze and investigate financial disputes, including chargebacks and unauthorized transactions, using internal systems and external resources. You will gather all necessary documentation, review transaction history, and liaise with merchants and customers to reach a fair and accurate resolution. Proactive Risk Monitoring: Utilize advanced fraud detection tools and systems to monitor accounts for unusual or suspicious activity. You will identify and escalate potential fraud patterns and trends, taking swift action to mitigate risks before they materialize. Customer Communication: Communicate with card members via phone, email, and internal messaging to gather information about disputed charges and provide clear, empathetic updates on the status of their case. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding them through a sometimes confusing process with patience and professionalism. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed, accurate records of all case investigations, actions taken, and resolutions reached in our case management system. You will also generate reports on dispute trends and fraud metrics for internal review. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with other departments, including Customer Service, Fraud, and Legal, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to all payment-related issues. Adherence to Regulations: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all relevant payment card industry rules, federal regulations, and internal policies related to disputes and fraud. You will ensure all actions comply with legal and ethical standards. Ongoing Training: Participate in continuous training sessions to stay updated on emerging fraud schemes, new company policies, and system enhancements. Self-Motivation & Discipline: The ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and maintain high productivity in a remote setting. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required. A degree in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
