For a number of years, we have noticed that it seems to be the trend to put in as much technology as possible in a motorhome. That’s fine as long as it doesn’t become too complicated, too fast. Some of us don’t catch on as quickly as others, especially when it comes to technology. This is why we were delighted when we first saw the new Winnebago Brave Class A motorhome.

The Brave first came into being in 1966 as a motorhome and has been a popular model for years. This latest rendition of the Brave has a nostalgic look with modern amenities. The Brave is a classic in every sense of the word, but comes with all the modern frills and trimmings that you would expect.

The Brave is built on a Ford F53 chassis and has a 6.8 liter Ford Triton V-10 engine. It has a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a four-wheel ABS brake system. When you press the accelerator, the V-10 engine has a throaty roar, but it is not loud or obnoxious. The engine has plenty of power for the Brave and provides a smooth ride on the highway. We found that it had enough power to easily handle the mountain roads of Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains.

The Brave has a number of floor plans from which to choose. They range in length from 26 to 31 feet. Our test model was a 26A, which has a queen-size bed in the rear, a sofa bed, and a booth dinette that makes into a bed. This floor plan is designed to sleep up to six people.
