About the position
Sentara is seeking a Scheduler/Customer Service Representative for the Clinical Access Centralized Scheduling Department. This role involves managing patient scheduling and addressing customer service inquiries related to eligibility, claims, and payments, primarily in a call center environment. The position will transition to remote work after an initial onsite orientation period.
Responsibilities
• Handle incoming calls to address eligibility, claim, and payment issues.

• Perform patient scheduling and referral work.

• Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education.

• Research and resolve telephone inquiries related to customer service.

• Schedule a high volume of procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system.

• Accurately obtain required information in the scheduling process.

• Responsible for order entry process, communications, guest relations, and medical record maintenance.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Two years of customer service experience.

• Experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician's office setting, specifically in Cardiology preferred.

• Experience scheduling patient appointments.
,
• High volume call center experience preferred.

• Epic EMR experience preferred.

• Data entry skills.
