Role Overview

As a School Psychologist, you will be a key resource in the evaluation and support of students’ emotional, academic, and behavioral needs. You will conduct psychoeducational assessments, participate in eligibility and IEP meetings, and consult with educators, administrators, and families to design effective interventions. Your work will help ensure that each student receives services aligned with their individual needs in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Virginia Credential Requirements

To serve as a School Psychologist in Virginia, you must:
• Hold a valid Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in School Psychology issued by the Virginia Department of Education
• Have completed a school psychology program at the specialist or doctoral level
• Meet internship requirements and pass applicable exams
• Complete background checks and fingerprint clearance as required by the school district
