About the Role As a Consultant on our Complex Property Tax team, you'll be at the forefront of the industry, managing intricate property tax appeals and valuations for a variety of complex commercial, industrial, and special-purpose properties. This is not a routine tax role; it's a dynamic, high-impact position where you will utilize your analytical skills and deep industry knowledge to deliver significant value for our clients. Key Responsibilities Valuation and Analysis: Lead the valuation and analysis of complex real and personal property, including industrial, commercial, and unique-use properties. Appeal Management: Manage all aspects of property tax appeals, from initial review and data gathering to preparing and presenting evidence to valuation authorities. Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice, regular updates, and strategic recommendations to minimize their property tax liability. Legal & Technical Expertise: Interpret and apply complex property tax laws, regulations, and appraisal principles to support appeal arguments and develop innovative tax-saving strategies. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, appeal filings, and other documentation with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in property tax consulting or valuation, with a strong focus on complex properties. Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Economics is required. A relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, MAI) is a significant plus. Analytical Skills: Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong understanding of valuation methodologies and principles. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, legal teams, and government authorities.
