About the position
The Research Project Specialist 2 position at the University of Minnesota is a part-time role (25% FTE) focused on managing and conducting a research project aimed at understanding children's reading strengths and weaknesses. The individual will serve as the research coordinator, collaborating closely with co-principal investigators and coordinating with research team members and school collaborators. This role involves identifying children for additional data collection, which includes reading tasks and neuroimaging. After the initial planning phase, the primary responsibilities will include site recruitment, conducting literature reviews, developing assessment materials, coordinating data collection and management, performing data analysis, and writing technical reports. There may also be opportunities to contribute to peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations. The individual in this position will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of co-investigators, research staff, and school collaborators. They will be expected to prepare and update Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and local school district applications for research review. Regular meetings will be facilitated to ensure logistical planning and management, and to set priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Responsibilities
• Serve as the research coordinator for the project, collaborating with co-principal investigators and research team members.

• Identify children with varying profiles of reading strengths and weaknesses for additional data collection.

• Conduct site recruitment and literature reviews.

• Develop assessment materials and coordinate data collection and management.

• Perform data analysis and write technical reports, including peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations.

Requirements
• BA/BS in education, educational psychology, special education, psychology, or related disciplines with eight years of experience, or a Master's degree with six years of experience.

• Experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with university and non-university partners.

• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
,
• Experience managing complex data sets and data analysis software.
,
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
,
• Strong professional writing skills, including research reports and peer-reviewed articles.

• Experience coordinating research staff and implementing projects with effective data management.

• Experience in assessment/instructional design.
,
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse communities.
