What You'll Do: Ensure Seamless Healthcare Access As an Insurance Verification Specialist, your responsibilities will focus on accurately and efficiently verifying patient insurance information. Your precision and dedication will be crucial to our operations, ensuring that patient care is never delayed due to administrative hurdles. Your daily tasks will include: Verifying Patient Eligibility & Benefits: Contacting insurance carriers via phone, online portals, and other communication methods to verify patient eligibility, coverage details, co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses, and specific benefit limitations for various medical services and prescriptions. Detailed Documentation: Meticulously documenting all verified insurance information, including policy numbers, group numbers, coverage effective dates, and a summary of benefits, into our secure internal systems. Prior Authorization Coordination: Determining if prior authorization is required for specific procedures or medications and initiating the process with the appropriate insurance provider and internal teams. Communicating with Internal & External Partners: Collaborating with Amazon's clinical staff, pharmacists, and other team members to ensure all relevant patient information is accurate and up to date. You will also communicate with insurance company representatives to resolve discrepancies or get clarification on complex policies. Maintaining Data Integrity & Confidentiality: Adhering strictly to all HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies to protect sensitive patient information. Problem-Solving: Proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies in insurance information, working to prevent billing errors and potential delays in patient care. Who We're Looking For: Your Skills & Remote Readiness We're seeking a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in insurance verification and the discipline to excel in a remote work setting. The ideal candidate will have: Proven Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, medical administration, or a related role within a healthcare setting.
