Auto Sales Engineer

<p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br>Under the direction of the Director of Automotive and Transportation, the Auto Sales Engineer is responsible for outside sales of all HellermannTyton products in the Detroit area. &nbsp;Account responsibility will be for business at OEM, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tier suppliers. &nbsp;Accounts will be assigned. &nbsp;This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee specific automotive accounts in the Detroit area with the main focus being at accounts assigned. &nbsp;Required to make face to face interaction with design engineers and purchasing personnel. &nbsp;Monitor all current business.</li>
<li>Drive or fly to the manufacturing facilities of accounts assigned.</li>
<li>Telephone contract and follow up will be critical to the success of the position.</li>
<li>Maintain records in computer database.</li>
<li>Report to Director - Automotive and Transportation on activity in territory.</li>
<li>Demonstrate and sample products.</li>
<li>Look for applications for standard products and new product development.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Other Functions</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Weekly, complete activity report and expense reports.</li>
<li>Quarterly, complete monthly forecasts and other reports.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. &nbsp;High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Knowledge of automotive and cable management market preferred.</li>
<li>3-5 years experience working with Automotive OEM's and Tier suppliers preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to travel by air and land (internationally and domestically) required.</li>
<li>Must possess valid driver's license and be insurable.</li>
<li>Able to push/pull/lift up to 60 lbs.</li>
<li>Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.</li>
<li>Familiarity with PC required.</li>
<li>Excellent presentation skills in front of large diverse groups.</li>
<li>Good organizational skills.</li>
<li>Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.</li>
