What you will do:
The Home Based Services Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing, providing, and coordinating education throughout their unit. This includes nurses, patient care technicians, certified nursing assistants and ward clerks. The Educator collaborates with unit leadership to help determine educational needs within the unit(s) as well as with other nursing education professionals to coordinate and implement needed and required education at the nursing unit level.
The Educator will assist with the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of educational services offered at the unit level. Ongoing programs include: unit based orientation, unit based preceptor development and management, unit based resident development and management, and annual competency assessment in conjunction with unit leadership.

Required Education:
BSN, or matriculation in a BSN program within a year

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in nursing, education or other related field

Required Skills:
Clinical nursing proficiency, teaching or training experience (formal or informal), basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Skills:
Experience with public speaking, presentations with staff and community

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Current Licensure in good standing to practice and a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BLS.

Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years clinical experience in Hospice
